BiH VNR 2019

In 2015 all United Nations Member States committed to Agenda 2030 and 17 Global Goals which shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, aiming to eliminate poverty and hunger, eliminate discrimination in all its forms while providing equal rights and opportunities for all women and men, and ensure our planet is protected. Agenda2030 helps countries commit, align and measure their respective contribution to such an ambitious yet crucial endeavor. Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of 190 signatories of the Agenda2030 dedicated to achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

The Voluntary Review presented on 16th July 2019 at HLPF in New York was jointly developed by relevant institutions at all administrative levels, informs on the process undertaken in the country, which to date has engaged thousands of people. Furthermore, it will be used in all strategic planning processes that the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Brčko District embarking upon in 2019.

United Nations Global Compact

The Global Compact is the United Nations initiative for introduction of corporate social responsibility, and it is the largest initiative of this kind. It represents a unique example of cooperation between the business world and the international community. Apart from companies, it brings together representatives of academia, civil society, government, business associations and the UN.

Here is a call to companies to align strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and take actions that advance societal goals.
