Out of a record-breaking 484 applications, 34 finalists have been selected for their innovative approaches in the thematic areas of “People” and “Resources & Environment,” setting new benchmarks for sustainable business practices in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The SDG Business Pioneers Award in Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2025 has entered its final stage with the selection of 34 finalists from 484 applicant companies. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Award is granted in two thematic areas that reflect key aspects of sustainable business. These areas are “People,” which recognizes companies committed to creating equal opportunities, decent working conditions, and employee development, and “Resources & Environment,” which highlights companies investing in environmental protection, efficient resource management, and green technologies.
Three quarters of the finalists come from the category of micro and small enterprises, while one quarter are medium and large companies. The selected companies have demonstrated how strategic alignment with sustainable practices can transform their business and the communities in which they operate.
Finalists in the “People” category contribute through their practices to creating equal opportunities, safer workplaces, and stronger communities. Finalists in this category are:
- Large companies: Personify Health, Telemach BH, TRIO, dm drogerie markt, Intesa Sanpaolo Banka
- Medium companies: Mladegs Pak, System Verification BH, Walter AEC, Walter Code, Weltplast, iFORM
- Small companies: ISATIS, P.U. Internationale Deutsche Schule Sarajevo – International German School Sarajevo, Reeinvent BH, Unija Smart Accounting
- Micro companies: Green Visions eco tours, Zdravo, Magbago, Desinfecta
Finalists in the “Resources & Environment” category stand out through concrete steps taken to reduce environmental impact, through responsible resource management and investments in sustainable technologies. Finalists in this category are:
- Large companies: Alma Ras, BH Telecom, Intesa Sanpaolo Banka, LANACO, Lactalis BH, Raiffeisen Bank
- Medium companies: Atlantic Argeta, Lukavac Cement, iFORM, Meggle BH, Mujanić
- Small companies: Aida-Commerce, G&S Traders, General Engineering, PIK
- Micro companies: Ego, KulinWorld, Magbago, Desinfecta
Four companies are finalists in both thematic areas: Intesa Sanpaolo Banka (large), iFORM (medium), and Magbago and Desinfecta (micro).
These companies demonstrate that sustainable business brings multiple benefits – enhancing company competitiveness, creating better conditions for employees, and contributing to the development of the communities in which they operate.
The Award is part of the program “Translating the SDG Framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina into Sustainable and Inclusive Growth (SDG2BiH),” funded by Sweden and implemented by UNDP in partnership with UNICEF and UN Women, as part of the United Nations’ support to authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in implementing the SDG Framework. The official partner of this Award is the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
