At a time when the labor market presents increasing challenges, companies that care for their employees, communities, and the environment not only contribute to economic growth but also help shape a more resilient society. The SDG Business Pioneers Award in BiH has been recognizing leaders in sustainable business practices for seven years, and applications for the 2025 edition are now open.

Many companies in BiH are already implementing sustainable business principles, often without realizing that their efforts align with globally recognized sustainability standards. Investing in employees and sustainable practices leads to tangible business results – increasing productivity, reducing employee turnover, and ensuring long-term stability. In the context of BiH, where retaining skilled professionals is becoming an increasing challenge, this can be a key factor for success.

From the 360 companies that applied in 2024, the SDG Business Pioneers Award in BiH has already highlighted outstanding examples such as dm, Zira, GS Tvornica Mašina, and TT Kabeli, proving that it is possible to build a business rooted in responsibility toward employees and the environment. Their success stories show that sustainability is not just corporate social responsibility but also a competitive advantage that attracts investors and consumers.

Applications for the SDG Business Pioneers Award in BiH 2025 are open until March 15. Participation is free, and the process is simple and accessible to all private companies in BiH, regardless of size. More information and the application form are available at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SDGBusinessPioneers2025.

The winning companies will be announced at the award ceremony in June 2025, which annually gathers around 200 representatives from the private sector, NGOs, international institutions, and local authorities—creating a unique platform for promoting sustainable development and inspiring future leaders.

The SDG Business Pioneers Award is part of the programme “Translating the SDG Framework in BiH into Sustainable and Inclusive Growth (SDG2BiH),” funded by Sweden and implemented by UNDP in partnership with UNICEF and UN Women, as part of the United Nations’ overall program supporting BiH authorities, coordinated by the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in BiH. The official partner of this award is the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
