About the Award

The SDG Business Pioneers Award ceremony aims to promote private sector efforts in the field of sustainable development in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2023 we will declare the fifth generation of SDG Business Pioneers. The SDG Business Pioneers Award recognizes and accentuates the efforts of private sector companies related to achieving the SDGs in BiH as well as motivates new entrepreneurs to create their business models in accordance with the SDGs. It is organized under the programme “Translating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina into sustainable and inclusive growth (SDG2BIH)” which is financed by Sweden and implemented by UNDP in partnership with UNICEF and UN Women under the United Nations’ overall support extended to the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to implement the SDG Framework in BiH. The partner of the SDG Business Pioneers Award is the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Awarded companies will be recognized and will receive the “SDG Business Pioneers Award in BiH 2023 – Winner” trophy. The Award is given to the micro, small, medium and large companies in two thematic fields (People and Resources & Environment). Besides these eight awards in specific categories and themes, an Award is also given to the Overall Winner.
