In 2015, all 193 United Nations Member States expressed their commitment to the Agenda 2030 and 17 Global Goals, which shared a blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, aiming to eliminate poverty and hunger, eliminate discrimination in all its forms while providing equal rights and opportunities for all women and men, and ensuring that our planet is protected. Agenda 2030 helps countries commit, align and measure their respective contribution, to such an ambitious, yet crucial endeavor. Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of 193 signatories of the Agenda 2030 dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Voluntary Review presented on July 16, 2019 at the High-Level Political Forum in New York was jointly prepared by the relevant institutions at all administrative levels in BiH. The VNR informs on the process undertaken in the country, which to date has engaged thousands of people. Furthermore, it will be used as a reference point for all future strategic planning processes that the institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Brčko District are embarking upon in 2019.
